HYDROGEN PEROXIDE (Dihydrogen dioxide)is a mild antiseptic used on the skin to prevent infection of minor cuts, scrapes, and burns. It may also be used as a mouth rinse to help remove mucus or to relieve minor mouth irritation. It is used for pulp- and paper-bleaching. The second major industrial application is the manufacture of sodium percarbonate and sodium perborate, which are used as mild bleaches in laundry detergents. Hydrogen peroxide is used in certain waste-water treatment processes to remove organic impurities. It is used for the sterilization of various surfaces, including surgical tools, and may be deployed as a vapour (VHP) for room sterilization. It is available in Technical and Laboratory grade.
